Renewals:
Items may be renewed twice. They may be renewed online, by phone (734-439-1240), by email (info@milanlibrary.org), or in person. Items on reserve for another patron cannot be renewed.
Hotspots:
The circulation time and renewal limits for hotspots vary. Details are here.
Returning Items:
Items may be returned in the library or in the drop box outside the library. Please return large Items (Library of Things items, STEAM kits, etc.) and fragile items (hotspots) to the circulation desk.
Late fees on items from our library are:
There is a one-day grace day on all items except hotspots. If items are returned one day late, there will be no fine. If they are returned 2 or more days late, fines will be added beginning with the first late day.
If fines on your account are $10 or more, your account will be blocked until the fines are paid.
Fines may be paid by cash, check, or credit card.
To check out items from the library, you should have your library card with you. If you forget your card, you may check out with your photo identification. If you are under 18 and forget your card, you may check out with your own ID or with your parent/guardian and their photo identification.
If you lose your library card, you may purchase a replacement for $2.

Reserving items:
You may reserve items that are currently checked out and will be notified when they are available. You can reserve items in our catalog or by asking us.
If you receive weekly emails from us, the reserved items will appear on the bottom of those emails. It doesn't mean they are ready for you, just that you are on the reserve list. When the item is ready for you to check out, you will be notified according to the method you have chosen: text, email, or phone.
When your reserved items are ready for you to check out, we will hold most items for 7 days. DVDs and hotspots are held for 2 days.
To access your library account online, visit our website, www.milanlibrary.org, and click the “Catalog/My Account” option or go directly to our catalog here: https://milan.agverso.com.
You'll log in the first time with your library card number (just the numbers, no spaces) and the default password given to you when you received your library card. If you have forgotten the default password, you can use the "password reset" option to receive a link by email to change your password.

Submit a Suggestion for Purchase
Fill out a suggestion for purchase form in the library, email info@milanlibrary.org for adult items, or fill out the form here for youth items. We will notify you if we purchase an item you suggest.
MeLCat Interlibrary Loan
Items may be available from another library through MeLCat. To request an item, ask at the reference desk or visit the MeLCat page online at www.mel.org. Items requested usually arrive at our library in one to two weeks. A Milan Public Library card is required to use this service at our library. If you have a MILibraryCard or Student Card, please contact your home library for this option.
MILibraryCard
The MILibrarycard program enables cardholders from our library to borrow items in-person from other participating libraries. Get your MILibrary sticker at our library, and use it at the libraries listed here: milibrarycard.org
